Resetting passwords and updating or deleting users in My Business
Get started
It only takes a few minutes for the account Primary Contact or an Admin to update user information, delete users or start the reset password process in My Business.
Here’s how to get started.
- Sign in to My Business.
- Click Manage, then click Company, then click Company users.
- On the "Company users" page, you’ll see a list of My Business users, or you can find a specific user by entering a user ID or username in the search box and hitting enter on your keyboard.
- Click Edit to update user information
- Click Delete to remove this user from My Business
- Or click Reset Password to start the password reset process for that user
Editing a company user
- In the "Actions" column, click Edit to go to the “Edit Company User” screen to update:
- First and last name
- Phone number
- Email address
- Click Continue.
- On the "Product tools" page you can update user roles and product tools access. To update aUser role:
- Click the Role dropdown to select a new user role
- Click Need help finding a role? to see a grid with user roles and permissions
- Next, you can update the user's Access Rights. Among the services you can check or uncheck are:
- Bill on Behalf Of
- Machine to Machine / ThingSpace Manage
- Microsoft Office 365 (Limited Access)
- Name ID Services
- Push To Talk
- Click the Role dropdown to select a new user role
- Click Continue.
- Next, you can update the users billing or company structure assignments.
- When you've completed that task, click, Save, and your're done.
Note: only Primary Contacts can update User ID's.
Deleting a company user
- In the “Actions” column, click Delete.
- You'll see a pop-up window with the user details.
- Two important notes:
- Any payment accounts set up by this user will also be deleted.
- If you delete a user, you can’t use that User ID again.
- Click Delete.
Resetting a user password
If a user forgets their password, Primary Contacts and Admin roles can start the new password process in My Business.
This sends an email to the user for them to complete the process.
- Sign in to My Business.
- Click Manage, then click Company, then click Company users.
- On the "Company users" page, you’ll see a list of My Business users, or you can find a specific user by entering a user ID or username in the search box and hitting enter on your keyboard.
- Find the user you want to assist, then click Reset Password.
- You'll get a pop-up window confirming an email will be send to the user with instructions on how to reset their password.
- Click Continue.
- Another pop-up window will say, “An email was successfully sent to the (email address) with instructions for (username) to reset their password.
