Reports and user roles

1. What are reports in My Business?

My Business reports are a great way to track and manage your wireless accounts.

These reports can help you make informed business decisions by reviewing, downloading and analyzing your accounts, invoices and usage information in My Business.

To access My Business reports:

  1. Log in to My Business.
  2. Click Reporting.

From here you can click View all for the main Reports page, or click through to scheduled reports, Raw Data Download (RDD) reports, or charges and usage reports. 

2. Which user roles can access My Business reports?

The reports you see in My Business are determined by your user role. Contact your program administrator if you need to update your user role.

These My Business user roles can create and view Reports:

  • Primary Contact
  • Administrator
  • Analyst
  • Maintain
  • Maintain & Pay
  • Maintain Limited
  • Maintain Service Business
  • Maintain Service Plus

3. What are the top My Business reports?

Here's a few of the most popular reports in My Business and the data they provide.

  1. Account Unbilled Usage
    • Current unbilled usage for the account.
  2. Data Summary
    • Summary of data, messaging, and purchase charges for each wireless number.
  3. Device
    • Comprehensive summary of devices and upgrade eligibility data.
  4. Billed Data Details
    • Data session details for multiple wireless numbers displayed simultaneously.
  5. Call Summary
    • Summary of voice usage and charges for each wireless number.
  6. Raw Data Download
    • Comprehensive report containing all monthly statement data.

Standard reports

4. What's the difference between a standard and custom report?

Standard reports have a pre-configured view of your account data.

Custom reports are modified versions of standard reports, where you can add or delete fields to create the report you want.

Creating a custom report

6. How do I create a custom report?

Scroll down to the left corner of the main Reporting page, and in the "Create your own report" section, click Start customizing report >

  1. Click the type of report you'd like to create and click Continue
    • Overview of lines
    • Account summary
    • Usage details
    • Usage and charges summary details
    • Purchase activity
  2. Select the type of data you'd like to use in this report. 
    • The options will depend on the report type.
  3. Select the fields you like to use.
    • The top checkbox in grey selects all of the options in the column, or you can click each one individually.
    • When you've selected your fields, click Continue.
  4. Name your report and click Generate Report.
  5. Click Save report if you're done, or you can change report options in the dropdowns, such as how you view the data, or the report date range. When you're done, click Save report.
  6. Write a short description of your report. 
    • Check the box next to "I want to share this report" if you want to make this report available to other My Business users. 
    • If you share the report, they'll see your description of the report.
  7. If you'd like to send email notifications to other users, click Add other recipients and enter their email address.
  8. Click Continue.
  9. You can run this report one time, or schedule it to run every month. 
    • If you want to make this a recurring report, click Run report monthly tile and select a date range in the dropdowns.
  10. Click Submit.

It can take up to 24 hours before your new report is available.  

  • To edit the report, click the pencil icon
  • To download the report, click the down arrow icon
  • To delete your report, click the trash can icon.

 

Raw Data Download (RDD) reports

7. What is a Raw Data Download (RDD) report?

Raw Data Download reports, or RDD reports, allow you to view and organize data for multiple accounts and mobile numbers. 

This is an advanced report, best for large amounts of data. The flexibility and convenience allows you to upload the data into software such as Access®, Excel®, PeopleSoft or Crystal Reports.
